Corran Horn was a Human security officer with the Corellian Security Force (CorSec) who eventually joined the New Republic and learned of his powerful Jedi heritage. He became a powerful Jedi, and a Master on the new Jedi Council.

Corran began studying the ways of the Force. He enrolled in Luke Skywalker's Jedi academy on Yavin 4 under the alias Kieran Halcyon, who was an ancestor of his grandfather Nejaa Halcyon. Corran played a message left by his father which told him more about his Jedi heritage.

Corran and Luke initially had differences over the training methods Luke used. Corran was convinced that Kyp Durron's fall to the dark side could have been prevented if Luke had enacted more control over his students. After aiding in the defeat of the spirit of Exar Kun, Corran left the academy to find his own Jedi path.
