Having formerly been recruited into one of the first B-wing squadrons, blue-skinned Mon Calamari Ibtisam had problems accepting her transfer to Rogue Squadron, which she saw as a demotion, considering X-wings inferior to B-wings. But eventually she came to accept and appreciate the X-wing starfighter and her position in the Rogue Squadron.

During the Battle of Endor, while she was still in the B-wing squadron, she got blasted out of her starfighter, drifting about in space for twelve hours. Due to this experience, she developed arogaphobia and had to take four months of psych leave only to be assigned to Rogue Squadron upon her return.

Ibtisam was shot down and killed during the botched New Republic rescue attempt of Sate Pestage
