Jaster Mereel was a former Journeyman Protector, and reformed murderer who became leader of the Mandalorian clans.

Journeyman Protectors, a group of warrior-diplomats who would travel through the galaxy resolving disputes and hunting down outlaws.

Throughout their long history the Journeyman Protectors were allies with the Jedi. Together they went up against Hutts, Black Sun, Dark Jedi and the Mandalorian.

As the Journeyman Protector of Concord Dawn, Jaster Mereel was an honorable man. When Jaster discover how corrupt the Governor of Concord Dawn had became, He took it upon himself to stop the corruption by assassination.

After the Assassination of the Governor, Mereel was striped of is rank as a Journeyman Protector and Exiled from Concord Dawn. He wondered aimlessly until he found the Mandarlorians.

Jaster Mereel hoping to restore honor to the Mandalorians, created a Supercommando Codex, which outlined proper terms of conduct for the Mandalorian clans.

The goal of the Codex was to purge the dishonorable, mercenary ways that had become prevalent among them. However, a group of Mandalorians opposed the reforms, leading to the Mandalorian Civil War.

The conflict spilled on to the world of Concord Dawn, the same planet that Mereel had been exiled from many years before. Mereel and his Mandalorians were saved by the Fett family, who hid the soldiers on their farm. When Jango Fett's family was murderered, Jaster took the young boy under his wing and raised him as a son.

The loyalists of Mereel fought the Mandalore Overlords, until Jaster's betrayal and death. From then, the Mandalorian loyalists were led by Jango Fett.
